In more good news for the Sal’s NBL, and fresh off the 6-year Sal’s extension announced last week, G.J. Gardner Homes has extended its Presenting Partner deal with the League through until the completion of the 2025 season.
G.J. Gardner Homes will also continue its Naming Rights partnership of the Tauihi pro-women’s competition in 2023.
Ellie Porteous, Managing Director commented, “G.J. Gardner Homes are great supporters of sport from the main stage right down to the grass roots and club levels. At GJ’s we believe in the value of sports. Not only for what it teaches us on the court, but for the values it can inspire off it.
“Basketball is becoming more and more influential in New Zealand, so our ongoing partnership is a great way to give back to the community and to support both of these fantastic national leagues.”
G.J. Gardner Homes first joined the League in 2021 off the back of the successful Sal’s NBL Showdown, which made headlines around the world as one of the only competitions being played during Covid at the time.
As Presenting Partner of the League, G.J. Gardner Homes is heavily invested in supporting basketball families and communities across New Zealand, as evidenced by the more than 2,000 basketballs they give away each season.
The ongoing partnership took another positive path in 2022 when GJ Gardner Homes added the Naming Rights of Tauihi to its overall support of basketball.
League general manager Maree Taylor welcomed the extension and said it was further evidence of basketball’s growth and the League’s desire and ability to foster long-term partnerships.
“We are very focused on ensuring our relationships with partners deliver positive outcomes and we are thrilled with the work G.J. Gardner Homes is doing with women’s and men’s basketball,” said Taylor.
“Grant, Ellie and all the fabulous G.J. Gardner Homes staff and families love their basketball, and they build homes for so many families involved in or watching the game, so it’s a partnership with real purpose, value and enjoyment.”
The G.J. Gardner Homes Tauihi competition is scheduled to tip-off on July 12 when 2022 champions the Tokomanawa Queens host Southern Hoiho.
