New Southland Shark signing Jarrad Weeks showed no sign of early season rust, stuffing the stat sheet in Friday night's win over the Wellington Saints.
The newly-contracted NZ Breakers' point guard was in the middle of everything the Sharks did in a rare win in the Capital, finishing with 26 points on 60% shooting, including four from seven from beyond the arc. His tally included 10/12 free-throws, contributing in a large part to the Sharks 40 free throw attempts during the game, along with 2 rebounds, 6 assists and a block.
The man known as Agent 97 was named the Sal's MVP for the game and he was happy the Sharks were able to bounce back so well after dropping the season opener in Hawke's Bay on Thursday night.
"It's good to finish the road trip one and one. You always want to try and split a weekend like this at worst. We've just come together this week so we are just trying to get better with each game and I think we did that tonight," Weeks said.
St John Ambulance were the beneficiary of his MVP cheque. A worthy cause and a very worthy MVP.
