Australia booked their Quarter-Final spot with a 90-50 win over Chinese Taipei this morning (NZ time) Unable to shake free in the opening stages, Australia reeled off a 7-0 run to end the first quarter period, and then held Chinese Taipei to just 9 points in the second to hold a comfortable 22 point lead at halftime. The Boomers carried on rolling in the second half, putting 45 points on the board to cruise into the quarter finals.
Mitch Norton finished with 8 points and 2 rebounds while 2017 Sharks' team mate Nick Kay contributed 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.
The Boomers now await their quarter-final date, which is expected to be in the early hours of Thursday morning AEST. Their opponent is still to be determined.
